
On December 3,, 2025, Pan Feng, Vice Chairman of CEATEC and President of ECECDC, held a working meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture of Italy. The meeting was attended by Marco Lupo, Director General of the Ministry for Quality, and Cesare Morbelli, Diplomatic Counsellor of the Minister. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on the implementation and promotion of the China–EU Agreement on Geographical Indications, the development opportunities for Italian agricultural geographical indication products entering the Chinese market, the mechanisms for geographical indication protection, and related cooperation models. They also reached consensus on inviting the Italian side to participate in the China–Europe Geographical Indications Agreement Forum and related supporting activities to be held in Shunyi District, Beijing, and expressed their willingness to further strengthen communication and coordination to jointly promote pragmatic cooperation in the field of geographical indications between China and Europe.
On the same day, Pan Feng also met with Stefano Vaccari, Director of the Anti-Counterfeiting Office of the Ministry of Agriculture of Italy. The two sides agreed to jointly advance the China–Europe Geographical Indications Agreement Forum and related activities, and plan to share, at the legal sub-forum of the event, their cooperation experience with international e-commerce platforms such as Alibaba and Amazon in combating counterfeit and infringing products, so as to further strengthen China–Italy cooperation in the fields of food safety and intellectual property protection.
